The finished ball is genuinely display-worthy, and at a full size 5 it looks right sitting on my shelf next to my match tickets. The panel construction surprised me — the pieces click together with that solid snap I remember from sets as a kid.
I was worried 1,498 pieces would get tedious, but the panels snap together so satisfyingly I lost track of time. It's a legit size 5 ball, way bigger than I expected once it's built, and it looks great on my shelf next to my actual ball.
Built this over a weekend and the way it holds together as a full sphere is seriously impressive—no gaps when you snap the last panels in. It looks great on my shelf, though I’m half-tempted to buy a second one just to keep the build process going.
